  2.                                  106 passes for the 
  3.                                  Washington Redskins. At 
  4.                                  the time, it was the most 
  5.                                  receptions in one season 
  6. in NFL history. (Cris Carter of the Minnesota 
  7. Vikings now holds the record -- 122.) But Art 
  8. didnΓÇÖt stop there. Through the 1994 season, 
  9. Art had 934 career receptions -- also the
  10. most in league history.

  12. What makes those records a little surprising
  13. is that Art didnΓÇÖt start out as a wide receiver.
  14. He had been a running back in high school
  15. and started out at that position at Syracuse
  16. (New York) University. But Art had been a
  17. national champion hurdler in high school.
  18. The Syracuse coaches thought ArtΓÇÖs
  19. leaping ability and his height (6' 3" -- 
  20.
