- Washington Redskins. At
- the time, it was the most
- receptions in one season
- in NFL history. (Cris Carter of the Minnesota
- Vikings now holds the record -- 122.) But Art
- didnΓÇÖt stop there. Through the 1994 season,
- Art had 934 career receptions -- also the
- most in league history.

- What makes those records a little surprising
- is that Art didnΓÇÖt start out as a wide receiver.
- He had been a running back in high school
- and started out at that position at Syracuse
- (New York) University. But Art had been a
- national champion hurdler in high school.
